Clacky saves screen recordings in **Movies › Clacky** (`~/Movies/Clacky`) and screenshots in **Pictures › Clacky Screenshots** (`~/Pictures/Clacky Screenshots`). You can change either folder in a click, and every file stays on your Mac. Clacky never uploads your recordings or screenshots. It also searches your recordings by name, date and the words you said. 1. Open Clacky's Settings and go to **Recorder**. 2. Next to **Save recordings to**, click **Change…** and pick a folder. 3. New recordings go there. Recordings you already made stay where they are. 4. To go back, click **Default** next to the same row. ## How to change where screenshots are saved 1. Open Clacky's **Screenshots…** window from its menu-bar menu. 2. Next to **Saved to**, click **Change…** and choose a folder. 3. To keep a shot off the disk entirely, use **Copy only**: mark it up, press ⌘C and nothing is saved until you click Save. ## Finding a file fast - In Finder, press ⇧⌘G and paste `~/Movies/Clacky` or `~/Pictures/Clacky Screenshots`. - Clacky's Recordings window lists every recording with a thumbnail, its length and the first words you said. - Screenshots also slide onto the **Shelf** beside the screenshot editor. Drag one straight into Finder, Slack or any app. ## Space and cleaning up Screen recordings get big quickly, especially at Retina sizes. Uninstalling Clacky leaves your recordings and screenshots in their folders until you delete them yourself. ## Questions ### Can I save Clacky recordings to iCloud Drive or an external drive? Yes. Pick any folder you can write to with Change… in Settings → Recorder. Clacky itself uploads nothing, so anything synced is synced by iCloud or your drive app. ### Does Clacky use the same folder as macOS screenshots? No. macOS screenshots go to your Desktop by default. Clacky's go to Pictures › Clacky Screenshots, so the two never mix. ### Are my recordings uploaded anywhere? No. Recordings and screenshots are saved on your Mac and stay there unless you share them yourself. ### Where do Studio exports go? Next to the recording you edited, in the same folder, with the shape or format added to the name.
