# YouTube in Clacky’s Calendar: coming soon

YouTube is in Clacky’s Calendar as coming soon. It needs a developer app that Clacky is still setting up, and there is no date we can promise.

Until then YouTube shows dimmed in the Calendar and can’t be connected or picked. When it’s ready it turns on by itself, with no app update.

## What you can do today

Plan and schedule posts to Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Discord and X in the same Calendar. You can already write YouTube posts as drafts in your plan.

A post to YouTube can be up to 5,000 characters. YouTube posts need a photo or video.

## Good to know about YouTube

The first line of the post is the video’s title (up to 100 characters, no < or >), and you choose who can watch and whether it’s made for kids, with no defaults, as Google asks.

## See which posts sent visitors

Links to your own websites get a tag for each post when it’s scheduled, so the Calendar’s Stats and Clacky’s Analytics show which posts sent visitors and sales.

## Questions

When will YouTube work?

When its developer app is set up and, where the platform asks for one, approved. There’s no date we can promise.

Will I need to update Clacky?

No. YouTube turns on by itself once it’s ready.

Where are my drafts kept?

Drafts and the queue are kept on your Mac. Scheduled posts go to Clacky’s posting service so they can go out on time.
