Is there a cozy idle game for Mac that grows while you work?
Yes. Clackyland, inside the Clacky app, is a little harbour town that grows from your normal work: your clicks bake cookies, cookies dress your Blip, and the buildings grow on the days you use Clacky.

Clackyland: a town that grows from your work
Clacky is a Mac menu-bar app for click, keyboard and scroll sounds, a click ripple, a screen recorder and screenshots. Clackyland is the cozy part: a harbour town with windmills, gulls and a lighthouse, where your Blip, your own little character, lives.

Which one fits you
They don't exclude each other. Clacky's sounds play while any game runs, games included.
- You want to watch something grow while you work, with almost nothing to do: Rusty's Retirement does this better. It is a real idle farming game made to sit at the edge of your screen.
- You want a calm room with a focus timer and a to-do list: Spirit City: Lofi Sessions. On a Mac it needs macOS 14 and Apple silicon.
- You want your whole Mac to feel cozier, with a small town as a reward on the side: Clacky. The sounds and ripple work in every app, and Clackyland grows from what you already do.
How to start Clackyland
- Download Clacky from clacky.app and open it. The 3-day free trial needs no card and no account.
- Clacky asks for Input Monitoring so it can hear your clicks and keys. Keyboard sounds listen for key down/up only. Clacky never records, stores or sends which keys you type, and respects Secure Input.
- Make your Blip: pick one, roll a new one or give it a name.
- Click Clackyland on the switcher at the top of the Clacky window and visit the Cookie Factory.
- Work as usual. Come back to Clackyland whenever you like.
