clacky

Click ripple maker

Turn a still screenshot into a short clip that shows where to click. Drop in a picture, click where each click should happen, and download a GIF or a video with ripples, a gliding cursor and (in the video) click sounds.

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type, click, film or say is uploaded or saved.

How to make a click GIF

  1. Choose, drop or paste a screenshot.
  2. Click the picture where each click should happen, in order. Every click gets a ripple, and the cursor glides from one to the next.
  3. Pick the colour, size and style, and a click sound for the video.
  4. Press Download GIF or Download video.

GIF or video?

  • GIF plays anywhere (docs, READMEs, help centres, email) but has no sound and fewer colours.
  • Video keeps every colour and has the click sounds. It’s an MP4 in Safari and newer Chrome, otherwise a WebM.

Private by design

Your screenshot never leaves this page. The GIF and the video are made by your browser, on your computer.

Questions

How do I show mouse clicks in a screenshot?

Drop the screenshot here and click on it where the clicks go. Each one gets a ripple, then download a GIF or a short video.

Is my screenshot uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser: the picture, the ripples and the export. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Why does the GIF look a bit grainy?

GIFs can only use 256 colours, so gradients and photos get dithered. For sharp colours, download the video instead.

Can I get ripples like this while I record my real screen?

Yes. Clacky draws a ripple under your cursor on every click on your Mac, and its recorder captures it live with the click sounds.
